Spring Break Destinations

Ahhh spring break! Best time to unwind and forget your problems… for the next week or so of course. College students go crazy and the rest of us just want a nice relaxing place to be. It’s all about relaxation here no crowded streets and crazy college kids running around. This list takes into account accessibility and a wide range of places so that both beachgoers and city-slickers alike will be happy.

  • New Orleans- This vacation can go two ways. One, you can help out the community by doing a little bit of volunteer work to rebuild and bring back some of New Orleans former glorious self. If not then the French Quarter has restored itself enough to provide plenty of entertainment options. The most famous place to be here is Bourbon Street. Here you’ll find street performers, fortune tellers, rowdy bars, and much more. You really can’t go wrong in the Big Easy!
  • Puerto Rico- Passports suck and no one likes applying for new ones. So if you’re looking to leave home without leaving well… home Puerto Rico is American territory and there is no need for all the documentation hassle. Puerto Rico’s reputation has been growing since it’s affordable and there’s plenty of night life. This is the place where Caribbean, American, and Latin flavors collide into one adventurous and exotic getaway. An awesome place to visit: Mosquito Bay (Vieques) at night. There are millions and millions little critters in the water that illuminate when you swim. A must for all travelers here!
  • Chicago- New York would have made the list however it is quite expensive to go to the City that never sleeps. This windy city though is easy on the pocket and has plenty of museums, night life, sites, and miles of places to shop (AKA the Magnificent Mile) and have fun! Chicago can also be a romantic place when you look out from the John Hancock observatory or make reservations in one of the many restaurants. If you’re looking to be kid in the midst of all the adult fun the Navy Pier is you’re next go to spot. Eat cotton candy, a hot dog, and even go on a Ferris wheel ride.
  • Cayman Islands- Looking to dive into your spring break? Well, Cayman Islands is by all measures the world-class diving destination. It has over 150 dive sites ranging from shipwrecks to walls to rich coral reef systems, and diving caves. It’s a great vacation spot not only for singles, couples, but also great for families. The tour groups and snorkeling/diving instructors will not only show you a whole new world under the sea but you can walk away from this experience learning a thing or two about this underwater world as well.

These four hot spots aren’t just amazing but also very affordable and friendly for all types of vacationers (singles, couples, and families). Make sure to bring plenty of sun block whether you’re going to the city or one of the exotic places listed as well. None of these places require passports so it’ll be an easy hassle free trip.
