Camping holidays

Camping holidays are a great way to visit an exciting, exotic place at only a fraction of the cost of a traditional holiday. You can experience the best weather in Europe, as well as all of its sights and sounds, in a way you may not have previously considered.

The first European area we’re going to recommend is one of the most underrated: the UK. There are loads of beautiful places to camp around Britain, some of which you may not know even exist! The first one we’re going to highlight is the North York Moors. This region of Yorkshire was brought to the world’s attention by Emily Bronte in her classic novel Wuthering Heights. As a result, camping in the North York Moors could be perfect for the literature fan in your party. What’s more, nearby York is one of the most picturesque areas in the UK, and even includes a Viking museum sure to keep any children amused!

The Lake District provides another slice of natural UK beauty. It’s one of the most popular places for Britons within the UK, and it’s not difficult to see why. With miles of rolling vistas, and lots of tranquil things to do, it’s a great place to just pitch on camping holidays and take things nice and easy for a few days.

Across the Channel and into France, Brittany is one of the most visited areas of France for people on camping holidays. St Malo is one of the reasons why. It’s a walled city set on a mountain and, along with nearby Mont St Michel, provides a wonderful day trip for those staying in the area.

It’s unsurprising that many people don’t associate Spain with camping holidays. Indeed, the sun-soaked country is usually thought of as a place filled with budget hotels and last-minute boozy weeks away. However, look closer and there are plenty of camp sites located along the Costa Brava. So once your tent is pitched, you can enjoy all the entertainment of the region for a fraction of the cost.

Another country perhaps not closely linked with camping holidays is Italy. However, the Lake Garda region in the north features some wonderful resorts close to some grand attractions. What could be better than spending the night in the great outdoors, sleeping next to one of the most famous and beautiful rivers in the world?

Camping holidays are a great way to experience Europe at a cheaper cost than usual. Britain is an underrated area to pitch a tent and enjoy a break – perhaps because people wrongly overlook it – with some real natural beauties. The cultural wonder of France can be unlocked by staying at any of the camp sites in Brittany, while Spain and Italy feature sites which provide access to countries perhaps not usually associated with staying outdoors.

Wherever you choose to spend your holiday, consider the benefits of a camping holiday. It’s cheap, exciting, and a wonderful way to get to know the most diverse continent on the planet.
