Universal Studios Orlando

Universal Studios Orlando

With Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Gatorland and Aquatica Water Park to name just a few, it’s no wonder that Orlando is the tourism capital of Florida. There are so many theme parks to enjoy that one holiday just isn’t enough to experience them all, so if you’re booking Florida holiday villas with a provider like Florida4Less, make sure you decide what you want to see ahead of time.

And don’t worry if a holiday surrounded by screaming kids doesn’t appeal to you – Orlando has much more to offer than theme parks, and the city is nearly as famous for its golf courses, music venues and shopping centres.

Walt Disney World Resort

The world’s most popular entertainment resort, this is actually four theme parks in one – not to mention the home of two water parks and 23 themed hotels – adding up to 47 square miles of amazing fun. Relive your favourite Disney cartoons in the Magic Kingdom, explore the wonders of science and technology at Epcot or go wild in the Animal Kingdom – there’s far more to do here than you can fit into a single Florida holiday with Florida4Less.

Universal Orlando Resort

Created by one of the most recognisable names in cinema, the Universal Orlando Resort doesn’t disappoint – from Jaws and the Blues Brothers to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, movie fans can experience shows and rides inspired by all their favourite characters. Depending on what time of year you visit, you could be in time for the Halloween Horror Nights, the Summer Concert Series or Mardi Gras.

There’s plenty for thrill-seekers and nature-lovers alike to enjoy at SeaWorld Orlando. Get close to penguins, sea lions, white whales and turtles one day, and spend the next on hair-rising coaster rides like the Kraken and Manta – or enjoy a gentler experience on the Sea Carousel. The all-new TurtleTrek exhibition is scheduled to open this April.

Aquatica Water Park

Just over the road from SeaWorld, this park has all the slides, chutes, rapids and wave pools you would ever need to cool down in the hot Florida sun. Inspired by the landscapes of the South Sea Islands, Aquatica features rich greenery, real sand beaches and tropical creatures to create a relaxing paradise in the heart of the city.

Other attractions

If you’d rather get away from the crowds and just relax, there’s a variety of cultural, shopping and sporting attractions to visit too. The city plays host to the annual Florida Film Festival, as well as the Shakespeare Theatre, Cornell Fine Arts Museum and the Albin Polasek Sculpture Gardens.

For a bit of retail therapy, head to the Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue and International Drive, where you can find brands like Burberry, Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, L’Occitane, Lacoste and the Hugo Boss Factory Store. If this isn’t enough, you could visit the Florida Mall, which with over 250 stores is the biggest in the state.

Alternatively, get all the activity you need at one of Orlando’s 170 golf courses or the many airboat rides and jet ski rides in nearby Kissimmee. You’ll never be stuck for something to do in Orlando, so plan your visit carefully to pack as much as possible into your holiday!
